God intended to keep some things hidden until they were needed to be known.
And he (God) said, "Go your way, Daniel, for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. Many shall be purified and made white, and tried, but the wicked shall do wickedly, and none of the wicked shall understand, but the wise shall understand."
Daniel 12:9-10
...who are kept by the power of God through faith to salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
1 Peter 1:5
...the preaching of Jesus the Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began....
Romans 16:25b
And YHWH answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain on tablets, that he may run that reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie. Though it delays, wait for it, because it will surely come, it will not be late.
Habakkuk 2:2
Some details in scripture have not made sense until the Holy Spirit decided to reveal them. For instance, Jesus' words in Matthew 24 (and Luke 17) about some people being taken and others left could not be understood until Paul was given the revelation and the Spirit revealed it again to the last days church.
For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and knew not until the flood came, and took them all away, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
Then shall two be in the field; one shall be taken [Paralambano = take to join with a companion], and the other left [Aphiemi = abandon, disregard, divorce].
Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken [Paralambano] and the other left [Aphiemi]. Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming.
But know this, that if the manager of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have let his house to be broken into. Therefore, you also be ready; for in what hour as you think not the Son of man comes.
Matthew 24:38-44
Jesus rebuked the religious leaders who had the knowledge of the scriptures for not knowing the time of His first visitation. He would not have rebuked them for something they could not have known.
And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it, saying, If you had known, even you, at least in this your day, the things which belong to your peace! But now they are hid from your eyes. For the days shall come on you, that your enemies shall cast a trench about you, and compass you round, and keep you in on every side, and shall lay you even with the ground, and your children within you; and they shall not leave in you one stone on another, because you knew not the time of your visitation.
Luke 19:41-44
Will He rebuke believers for not knowing the time of His second coming? You can count on it!
